Magical First Love
I'm sure you have heard people say, " Young love and the thrill of the first kiss, there is nothing like it". Well, I agree that that first kiss can't be duplicated. But the thrill and the fast heartbeat, the excitement at the thought of seeing your lover can and should be part of your romantic life no matter your age or how long you have been with your lover.
The Thrill Is Gone
When you first fall in love it is very physical. The quick heartbeat and sometimes butterflies in the stomach feelings, the desire to be touched, all these are part of the physical feelings of love. After a year or two with the same lover, for some people these physical feelings aren't strong or disappear completely. This makes some people stray to another lover. These people want to feel the thrill all the time. Maybe some people haven't leaned to love properly. There should be mandatory classes LOVE 101, STAYING IN LOVE 102 and so forth. There are many books on the subject, but you have to know that you are missing love knowledge to read them. You don't always know that there may be a way to have that thrill forever. Now you may not have the thrill everyday, but it should not disappear. When the thrill starts to come to you less often in the first year that is when you should ask yourself, "Why don't I feel the thrill?" This is the time to take 102.
- Have you expected a totally different life with your lover?
- Was what you expected realistic or had you been reading too many "happy ever after fairy tales"?
- Have you always been respectful of your lover, even when you disagree?
- Is most everything that goes wrong your lover's fault?
If you have answered any of these questions with "Yes", then you have to examine yourself to see if you may have added to your own unhappiness.
The Thrill Can Be Again
You can not change anyone except yourself. Change is difficult. Don't say, "Well, that is just the way I am". There is not a person in the world that can't change the way he/she thinks. You have the power to have the thrill. You have to engage your power to change your way of thinking and your perception. Often changing your perception of a situation will change your entire life. Rituals are done to make your life better, not to change another person. In the process of making your life better, you will change and your change will affect everyone around you. So, in a sense you are changing the people around you, but your intent is to change yourself to have the happiness you deserve.
You can love with that exciting thrill again.
